My Sweet Marie

Giving Thanks….

Posted on: October 8, 2012

Today is Thanksgiving for us Canadians. For some that means gathering with family and having a huge dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and on and on! This year our kids had plans with the in-laws and that is ok as we had them here just last weekend. We had a very nice relaxing weekend and ate just fine!

We did though take the time to talk about our many blessings. We are incredibly blessed to be Canadians and to live in a country where you can go about freely, shop and get just about anything you want at almost anytime you want! Not all of the world can say that.

We are blessed with two very beautiful and healthy daughters. Both daughters having lovely families of their own. They each have their own homes and able to support themselves! Not all parents today can say that! Thank you God.

We are  blessed with four incredible grand-children! We have Heidi who is in school and is as smart as can be! We have Holly who is three and speaks freely like there is no tomorrow! Yesterday Denis was bent over her, helping her with a toy and she looked up at him with her huge blue eyes, him expecting a lovey dovey comment only to hear “Pepe you have a booger in your nose!” Oh my goodness, you have to love that! We have Blake that is boy right to the bone! If it’s there, he will climb it or go over it! Then at last we have little Evy who will melt your heart with her little coos. These are incredible blessings! Again, thank you God.

We both have jobs that fulfill us and provide a lifestyle that is comfortable. We get to travel, eat well and spoil the grand-kids, what more can we ask for? We have each other as life long partners, we’ve been together for 32 years and hope to be together for another 32!(At least) We have fun, we support one another and most importantly we both feel respected!

Everyone has something to be thankful for, simply able to read, write or breathe are things to be grateful for. Life is full of blessings, look around you and be glad for what you have, not sad for what you don’t have.

Yours forever in gratitude,

Sweet Marie
