Mina’s Fruit Cocktail Cake

When you go to my mother in law’s for dinner, there is always dessert. I am known to forget to make dessert! This recipe is one of her many yummy cakes! It’s simple and having raised 10 kids she had to be creative and organized to get it all together! Enjoy!

You need:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 15oz can fruit cocktail with juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350
  2. Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased 10×10 pan. Bake 45 minutes.

Topping

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk

Boil all ingredients for 5 minutes. Pour over the warm cake and serve!
