Creme Brulee French Toast

I first had this dish in a bed and breakfast in Forest,On. It was so delicious, I twisted their arm into giving me the recipe! Now I am sharing it with the world!! Enjoy, great brunch dish.

Step#1

In a microwave dish,  melt:

  •  1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup

Pour all into a greased 9×13 pan.

Step #2: Arrange 6 slices of french bread cut thick over the butter sugar mess.

Step#3: whisk

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups of half and half
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp grand marnier or orange brandy of choice.

Pour over the bread and let set for 8-12 hours. cover and chill.

Step#4: Let dish sit on counter while oven warms. Preheat oven to 375.

Bake for 35-40 minutes until fluffy and golden brown. (uncovered)
